Little branches is a sweet little B+B and wedding venue in Featherston, Wairarapa. It is an exclusive venue that only holds 5 weddings per year. Naturally it was essential that one of these bookings was held for the proprietor’s own daughter!
Amanda had planned her beautiful garden wedding to the hilt, with a plethora of adorable handmade details including embroidered gift bags for her bridesmaids, hand painted cake toppers, and meter upon meter of beautiful bunting. Unfortunately, despite all my good juju, and despite plonking the wedding date bang smack in the middle of summer, the weather Gods were not pleased on Amanda and James’ big day. The rain splashed down, and the wind threatened the take off with the marquee. It was all rather dire indeed. Luckily both bride and groom took it all in their stride, their families rallied to move the ceremony into the beautifully laid out marquee, and the ceremony was as poignant and powerful as it would have been out in the sunshine. James tried to explain away his tears at seeing his gorgeous bride coming down the aisle as tears at his disappointment on Amanda’s behalf that the wedding was not outside… sure buddy! hehe
The sneaky old sun then decided, after snaggling the ceremony plans, to pop out in full force for the portrait session. The night ended with some heartfelt speeches, tante tips to the singletons (must purchase pairs of animals stat!), and some wild moves on the dance floor. Despite the weather, an absolutely incredible day was had. Thank you so much Amanda + James for having me along to capture it all.
